BEKKA'S STORY OF GRATITUDE

I could easily say that what I’m most thankful for is time spent outdoors, surrounded by nature’s beauty. How nature and the trail are where my soul feels most alive. How I find balance and grounding in nature. And how hiking has healed my depression and anxiety, along with helping with my balance and vertigo issues. I could say all of that because it’s all true.
But Humphreys taught me something else about myself. Before Humphreys, I considered myself a bit of a lone wolf. I hiked primarily with my partner, and never really wanted to hike with other people. Along with having social anxiety, as well as trail anxiety (self doubt about my hiking abilities), I just never wanted to hike with “strangers” from the internet. But I decided to step out of my comfort zone because that’s where real growth happens.
I loved hiking with Grant, Kelly, Ivan, Britt, Joe, and my partner. I’m grateful for the lifelong connections and friendships I made.

This was a wonderful experience that I will always be grateful for. I still love my “romantic getaway” hikes, just me and my partner, but now I look forward to more group hikes!
