My Gratitude Story - Tanea

When I was 4 years old, my parents went through a tumultuous divorce which lasted many years, with my sister and going back and forth like ping pong balls, always stuck in the middle of their battle with each other. I was little, but still have memories of the awful, bitter anger that they felt towards each during that time and honestly for most of my life. There was also addiction that played a role through many of those years which in return left me in charged of my sister on a regular basis.
Through all of those years of craziness, my grandparents always remained a constant stable source where we felt safe, where I could just be a kid without any worries or fears. My paternal grandma created a home that was a sanctuary for my sister and I. Where we knew that we would always be taken care of, would never go without feeling loved or cared for and always felt like we were a top priority. Those are childhood memories I hold onto with all my heart bc they are the happiest moments of my early life. Without that foundation they instilled in me I am not sure where I would be today. That is something I will forever be grateful for and never take for granted.🙏🏼❤️🩹
